Follow Friday (1)

Is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read

This is a blog hop for bloggers to get to know other bloggers, & to help some gain more of a following and support system for their blog. It looks like it should be a lot of fun. To join in, go to the host's page and follow the steps they have posted up there. =D

Sorry that my first post is a little late, I had a long day at work.

This week's question is...

When you've read a book, what do you do with it? (Keep it, give it away, donate it, sell it, swap it..?)

I must admit that I OWN & still have on my bookshelf every book that I have done a review for on my Blog. I am very stingy when it comes to my books and I don't like to give them away. I am very hesitant on lending them out as well, if it's a hard back I will take over the cover before even reading it or letting anyone else look at it. Yes, I am a book hoarder to the extreme. So much so that my bookshelf is over loaded and I need a new one. My biggest dream in fact is to have a room all by itself that is dedicated to my books (my own personal library). =D

Ahh, a room filled with book I think that every bookworms idea of heaven, hehe! ;)

I don't lend my book out either, and I like to keep the book that I enjoyed reading.

Oh yes, I find myself keeping my books in a safe! But I have to change that habit, I want to share my passion with my friends:)

I am also very hesitant about lending books to others... sometimes I haven't ever received them back again or they come back with dog-eared pages and cracked spines... yikes!

@Sarah (Escaping Through Books):
That has happened to me to, where I dont get them back or they come back damaged. At that point, is when I tell them that they own me a new one. If I ever borrow out a book, I tell them right up front that I expect it back in the perfect condition that I am lending it to them in.

@Renu, Maja & Kristen:
Thank you soooo much for following and supporting my blog. It's all for my followers that I keep up the hard work. =D

I am just really picky about who I let borrow my books, especially since I have bought them all out of my own money and that I take great pains to get the best ones that have no marks on the covers or anything. =D But having friends that like to read and share the love with you is definitely a bonus.

It sounds like you hoard a bit more than I do. I don't keep EVERY book I read, just the ones I really liked or would read again.

I know what you mean about lending out books and at the moment I'm onto my 6th bookshelf and I still have books on the floor and I also one day dream of having my own library as well, new follower, here's mine

I like your answer. My boyfriend and I talk about our dream house for the future and a must-have is an extra room we can turn into an office/ library. I think I'm more excited for that than anything. Haha. :)

Yea, I even keep the books that I didn't like. I just can't let them go. They are all like my babies. It would hurt to much to part from them.

Ahhh. I hope I never have to go through that. The house v.s. the books. LOL

Yea, I tell them exactly how it is if I lend them out. & should they ever mess up I will never lend them another one of my books.

@Sarah B:
Owwww.... That sounds like a dream to me. I am moving soon, but as soon as I get settled I'm going to get a BIG bookshelf. =D

LOL. I know what you mean. Owning a house (right now in my life) isn't necessarily really big on my list, but I do know I will have to have a room for my library.
